Role | Creative Intern
September - December 2023
FOCUS: This 10-12 hour per week internship supports students in their third or fourth year of a bachelor degree program looking to gain a deeper understanding of the many facets of the creative process and how Ember designs extraordinary in-person and virtual corporate events.
LEARN TO GATHER
All interns will participate in regularly scheduled “Gather to Grow” sessions lead by Ember staff and other industry partners to discuss foundational theory, emerging trends, best practices, and network with leaders in the events industry
Engage with concepts, content, and theory that will prepare you for success in the field and possible future certifications
ORGANIZE TO GATHER
Support Creative team with design needs: deck building, presentation support, event space layouts, and graphics development
Attend internal and client facing meetings and stay current on event correspondence/project timeline and deliverables
Post/manage/label event photos/videos after each event for marketing purposes & future use
Assist in social media development for channels including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Conduct event-related research including: specialty sourced elements, venues, and vendors
Utilize Box.com, Google templates, and Microsoft Teams management tools to create and/or sustain project timelines, organize files, communicate information to team members and archive project documentation
Multi-task and wear many hats as you flexibly approach assignments
COLLABORATE TO GATHER
Attend weekly all-staff meetings at 10am ET on Tuesday (we call them “charrettes”)
A collaborative mindset and interest in working with our internal gathering & creative teams, including Gathering Producers, designers, leadership, contractors and other interns
Clearly share information with project team and track timelines/deadlines
Willingness to jump in and flexibly tackle a variety of event and non-event related tasks and projects as assigned
STRIVE FOR GREATER GATHERING
Recognize learnings through successes and areas of improvement so that best practices are shared and followed
Practice direct communication and stay open to outcomes
Catalogue event photos/videos/collateral and archive on Box.com
ARCHITECTURE OF A GATHERER
Completion of academic coursework typically associated with first and second years of a four-year program in graphic design, environmental design, or other relevant fields
Experience in design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Keynote; experience in modeling programs such as Revit.
An insatiable thirst for creative inspiration through all aspects of life

REPORTING TO GATHER
Interns report dually to the Creative Director and the Intern Program Coordinator, but supports the entire Ember team
